Dovea House

Dovea House, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Dovea House is a fine country house which was built in c. 1830.
It was occupied by John Trant , a great land agent, in 1837.
It was still in the possession of the Trant family until the beginning of the 1940’s. It was subsequently purchased by Ballyduff Co Operative, Thurles and is now the headquarters of Dovea Genetics.

The house fell into disrepair over the years.
The ornate Cornice and Ceiling Centrepiece, in the room which is now the Laboratory, have been recently restored to their original splendour.
